Is the picture the objects or is it really the spaces between them?

Is a friendship two people or the spaces between them?

Is a friendship about what happens in the spaces>

Is the life of two lovers a portrait of two people or the spaces between them?

Even if those spaces are small, they are there.

Isn't life a form of space travel,

Traveling through the spaces that give meaning to our lives?

In the painting, it is the spaces that give meaning to the objects,

They provide the contrasts and perspectives that make the picture seem “real.”

And so it is with us, the spaces between us provide the contrasts and perspectives

That define us. Even if the space between two souls is small, there has to be a space,

Or there are not two but one.

I am happy that we share spaces,

And that the one between us is small.

That is the picture I like to see.

Our story is how we travel within our shared space,

And what the spaces mean.
